Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today. I am going to discuss the different places you can find Eco friendly products in the UK. Lots of options are out there, it is just a case of knowing where to look. I have had a lot of experience in looking for products, I will go through these below.

Online shopping

For a lot of the population nowadays, we tend to go straight to the internet to find what we want. This is great, as there are a lot of great options out there. Choosing where to buy from can be difficult if you don’t know the company and so you don’t trust them yet. A lot of the big companies such as; Eco friendly search on Amazon, EBay, Big Green smile are getting much better at offering a bigger range of products. Instead of having to buy items from different places, you can get everything you need in one place. Saving on postage costs, win, win!

If you are doing your weekly shopping at a big supermarket, you may find the stock as few lines of Eco friendly products. Namely, Ecover, method, or their own brand. They don’t tend to offer the range that online shopping does however. Main supermarkets will stock washing up liquid, all-purpose cleaners, laundry liquids, toilet cleaners and dishwasher tablets. This is great for a start, when you start delving into the world of Eco friendly products, you will notice that there are so many more options for a greener home online. No hair care, dental care, personal hygiene products in the supermarkets that are chemical free. The other downside is if you live in a remote area, smaller changes of the larger supermarkets may stock a smaller range of those products or none.

Local stores

Do you try to shop locally? Have you had any success in find Eco friendly alternatives to your shopping? I know I haven’t. This is a real shame as I would love to see much smaller companies getting on board with the Eco friendly revolution! It is possible for them to find wholesale suppliers at great prices as I am part of one. I sell Eco friendly products from my home for them in exchange for a commission. The more the word spreads about Eco friendly products and just how good the are the more will jump on board I hope! The main positive of shopping locally is the reduction in fuel costs and potentially packaging. If you can buy fruits and veggies loose rather than in plastic, this is so much better. Being able to walk to your local store instead of driving again, another great bonus.

So what’s best?

Online seems to be the best option. You can get a huge range of products from the one place. Also, when shopping online you have access to a vast amount of customer reviews on those products, giving you a real insight into how good the are. For example, I have written product reviews about some products I have been using. I have a whole list of items I use on a daily and weekly basis and update my website accordingly. For example, I have done one of the soap nuts as well as items like washing up liquid. I have also gone into more detail on certain products like hair care for different hair types. My husband is using them too, highly rates everything we had tried so far.

Buying locally for food to reduce waste and fuel consumption will also add to being Eco friendly. You can do your online shopping for the chemical free alternatives and your food shopping locally. It’s just a thought of mine and something I am trying to do myself.

Where to start

Google. For most of us, google is the main focal point on looking for anything online to buy or reviews. You can drill down to reviews on certain products you are thinking of trying. Don’t forget, it’s not just about cleaning products, hair care, dental care and waste reduction are all part of being Eco friendly.

Thought about reusable drinks bottles, reusable shopping bags or even biodegradable refuse sacks? I certainly have. I have changed everything I could think of including deodorants being chemical free, sun creams, feminine hygiene products and much more. You will notice a huge difference in yourself and your skin when you switch. Having a chemical, SLS, Paraben free alternative will make your skin feel so much better, especially if you suffer with allergies and skin conditions. A lot of these products are cruelty-free and vegan too. It really will leave you with the warm and fuzzies inside!

Once you have searched and made your decision on what to try, let me know how you get on. If you get stuck with what to buy, I am here to help you too. Feel free to leave me a comment and will be more than happy to help 🙂

You can use my Eco friendly search link to start shopping online via Amazon, I will receive a little commission and would really appreciate it. Until next time, good luck with your journey, I wish you every success.
